Heya! I am Marsha, born in Michigan and brought up in Kolkata (errmmm…unusual)
I am a software engineer by profession and a dancer and traveler at heart. <3
We Bengalis love to travel! I can not remember a single summer or winter vacation since childhood when Dad had not planned a trip for us. When I reached high school and other parents thought trips would distract their children, my parents took me to a beautiful Hill Station in North Bengal, Gangtok. They assured me “Come this trip will teach you a lot more than your books”.
Gangtok opened a whole new world in front of me and made me realize how powerful traveling can be. I felt snow falling in my hands, played gully-cricket in a valley, gaped at the beauty of the hills, saw men stitching beautiful shawls and women constructing steep roads. I developed a deep love for traveling and since then, I have been to different places around India, exploring, meeting new people, trying new cuisines, learning new languages and cultures, understanding, imbibing and eventually growing as a person.
One other thing that makes my soul happy is dancing. Although I realized this much later than most, I’m so, so glad I did. I started dancing at 23 and yes – it’s exhausting, it’s painful, it’s challenging, but oh so very worth it. I am here to share my stories and thoughts on travelling and dancing. It will mostly be about the places I visit and how I plan budget trips with family and friends. I will sometimes also write about how dancing changed my life.
I am just taking baby steps towards this blog and you might find a few stuff not in place. But there is no compromise on the information and experiences I have tried to share. The idea is to grow it along with constructive feedback right from the beginning. Be my reader and also my companion is this adventurous journey called ‘blogging’.
This blog essentially is my life journal, my diary of tiny memories, my bucket of silly little dreams. I will be happy if my words could inspire even a single person to travel, to dance or to do anything that he or she truly loves.
